Hello,
You folks are so knowledgeable here I almost hate to impose.
I had thought I had found this at one time but cannot retrace my steps.
Would one of you be so kind as to help me identify this coin and the approximate date.
I had written Aliour India 1/4 anna on it. It is Pretty
Thanks again for your kindness

I'm not coming up with anything on Alior or Aliour. Took a look under Gwalior but no match .

Somebody will figure it out. What is the size (diameter)?

The coin measures 39/32 inch in diameter
an online site says it equals:
29/32#8243; to mm = 23.01875 millimeters

It weighs 5.21 grams

I guess I was too hasty!

It could also be a different denomination.
If your coin is 39/32 inches then it is 31 mm.
If your coin is 29/32 inches, then it is 23 mm.
Can you clarify which?

The coin in the link (1 paisa 1888-1891) is 23 mm = 29/32.

Here is a better match: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces67693.html

Your date appears to be VS1949 = 1892 AD
