Quote:But it does kind of make sense that, after removing the paper dollar from our pockets, WE'LL THEN HAVE NO CHOICE TO USE THESE Presidential dollars........so, not "encouraged" to use them.....they'll be no choice whether or not to use them !. Have you heard of two dollar bills and quarters? (And believe me, if the dollar bill is eliminated they WILL ramp up the production of the two dollar bills. And you will never have o have more than one dollar coin for a transaction. So ther will be no reason to have multiple dollar coins in your pocket.) Quote: Hey.......then we would have a true "Dollar Bill" !.... No, you've got a Bill Dollar. :)

I collected all forms of the first year Proof UNC both mints and Mint set coins(satin finish) Because of the whole edge lettering debacle. Although I don't mind the look of the Washington Dollar, the others are less than appealing. In Proof they're downright scary! The series will most likely continue but that, edge lettering redesign, I don't know if there is going to be a change. Now that the redesign of the Sac Dollar is supposed to include edge lettering!?!? So as of now I am not actively searching them out for this year until I find there has or has not been some sort of change. They look too much like glorified Chucky Cheese Gaming Tokens!

Sure you'll have more than one dollar coin in yer pocket.....Would you rather have 6 quarters or 1 or 2 dollar coins?....It won't be uncommon for people to walk around with a George Washington, two John Adams, an Andrew Jackson, and maybe even a Sacajewea in their pockets and purses (since these are still in massive bags in banks all over the country too) Most of our car washes take the Presidential dollars now too and I've never seen one that takes a "$2.00 bill"..... Whether they "ramp up production" or not is fine, but I believe, YES, all of you WILL have various "Pres. dollar coins" in your pocket at some point in the future......some people more than others....might be 20 years from now.........less.......dunno. (me.....I prefer paper.... )

The new carwash I frequently use accepts both, even in the machines in each wash bay! It is interesting to note that using the central "change machine" (which is pointless since each wash-bay accepts the same denominations and bills that it does) gives you quarters! Yes, slide in a fin and get back 20 quarters. Pop in a baby dollar and get four quarters! Pointless! Why would you change a dollar coin into quarters when the machines in the wash bays already accept the dollar coins? Maybe it was for those people that are completely accustomed to using quarters; they might have have been lost had there not been a central change machine there!

I dislike paper money dollar bills....especially when they're crumpled up, stuffed in bras, sweat on and folded up in a pseudo-origami style.

Technically, will the first Bill dollar be William Henry Harrison?

nod2003 No, because "his" Presidency was worth more than a "dollar", whereas "Slick Willie's" was only worth about that......hence the first "Dollar Bill", plus it's a good "handle" for him as he goes to certain "places"....

I can't imagine the Government halting a coin "series" once it had been announced.
Get rid of the dollar bill, and continue the Presidential series.
Coins work for the Canadians!

I don't care to much for carrying around a bunch of change in my pocket. gets heavy after a while and besides I really don't like carrying keys in my pocket. So I don't like the idea of doing away with the dollar bill unless it does away with the people the bureau of engraving sells there money to if you know what I mean

"Coins work for the Canadians!" Loonies/Twonies are very practical to use. Our $1 bill is unnecessary; end it.

I say, don't keep us in limbo and just let us know what the intentions are....and what direction they want to go, in time. That way we can plan accordingly.

I bought my first PGD's (Pres. Gold Dollars) over my vacation in Cape May. Though they are legal tender, I think the set will be more for just collectors

The Presidential dollar "Proof Set" will be, for me, to put into an album.....though nowadays I really question doing that even...... I'm really "bothered" to continue to get these for the whole duration of the program ! But yeah......."my" sets will all be cracked, and holed most likely !...
