Another proof set here that I need help with. The 1970-S Proof set has a normal and a small date variety listed in my price guide. I believe the small date is the set with the small date 1970-S Lincoln Cent in it. I was checking my set and I think it's the small date on my Lincoln Cent but wanted to check and see you all think. Please let me know. Thanks!

Is there weakness in "LIBERTY"? If there is, than it's definitely a Small Date.
Errers and Varietys.

Sorry, kinda new at this variety stuff and didnt think to take a picture of the full coin. Been feeling a little under the weather and decided to relax and look at my mint and proof sets for any errors and varieties and this was one I needed a 2nd opinion on. I guess a pic of the full coin could be helpful.....i'll blame that mistake on the cold meds. LoL I'm at work now so I'll have to see about getting a better pic tomorrow. Thank you!

Yes, it's a small date. But more pics wouldn't hurt

It certainly appears to be the small date, but a full obverse photo would be helpful. There are other areas on the obverse (notably LIBERTY) which differ between the small and large dates.

Something I didn't realize about the small dates is that the obverse die is different than the large dates: I knew the shape of the '9' was different, but hadn't realized the obverse were a different number.

Thanks for all the input and advice everybody! I tried to get a couple pictures of the full coin but it was very difficult to get a good picture through the holder. Here's the two better pics I was able to get of the full coin. Maybe you can see "Liberty" clear enough to tell if it confirms the small date variety. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for confirming that it is the small date set like I thought. It was in a collection I bought and I'm excited to find that it's the small date and worth a lot more than the standard set. Now I'll have to work on digging my set out of the safe and check which one it is. Thanks again for all the help.
