1985 Washington Quarter Error Coin - Coin Community Forum

mcoins61 New Member United States 13 Posts	Posted 03/07/2019 2:59 pm Has anyone ever seem an error coin like this? You can see what looks like a back of a penny imprinted on the front of the quarter. You can see the WE and date are stamped through the penny imprint, so you can tell it's been there. Thoughts? Report this Post to the Staff

scubalou Valued Member United States 109 Posts	Posted 03/07/2019 3:24 pm Really need a picture, but it could be adhesive doubling. That's when a sticky substance on a coin comes in contact with another coin and over time can transfer the image of one onto the other. I'm pretty new at this but when I found one that's kind of how it was explained to me. Say for instance some cola was spilled onto a coin and then another coin got stuck to the first coin.
