At best, I'd say this coin has been mishandled if it didn't actually circulate for a short period. AU-58.

Specimen or not, this coin shows evidence of mishandling at best. AU-58.

Ms-60, too me doesn't look like a specimen. A specimen would have sharper detail and rims.

100% agreement with Tlutz on not a specimen, the strike is very poor compared to a specimen.

"Mishandling" just means that it may well be uncirculated but was not carefully handled by the rim before it finally found a holder.

Most definitely NOT a specimen strike. This coin was not mishandled, what you are seeing are elements of a weak strike (weak hair detail, weak upper check and neckline).

nice to know, as 1948 are known for some weak strikes ! So the grade could be good !
