it's in great condition. obverse side "liberty" looks to me like "LI B ERTY" is that normal? and reverse side "A" and "M" in "AMERICA" look connected, together or joined at the bottoms of each.

That's normal spacing on LIBERTY.
The AM are close together to start with so any wear will make
them look like they are joined together.
