I have looked at the old topics and still I find it tough to judge. I need opinions before I sell this as a filler.

My eyes are not as good as they once were, however during a close-up shot I think I see the "L". not sure if the bust is pointed or not..they all look the same to me!

Any opinions are appreciated! RK

I agree, with L
On the no L, the bust is closer to the 1.

Thanks for your help everyone! Much appreciated!

Yes Coinfrog, too bad about the scratches otherwise would have been a decent coin.

1864 With L Snow 5 die pairing, though a reverse image will be necessary to determine if it is Snow 5a or 5b as Obverse 8 was in service during two different die pairings.

Thanks for the additional info indiancentvarieties, I will take a look at the coin when I am back at work Monday.

If it is a 5b, does it add any special value to the coin?

Both the 5a and 5b are found in similar quantities; therefore, no additonal premium for the 5b die pairing.
