Looks like the two badly printed 1's are also ever so slightly out of aline with the other numbers. One of a few bills to send on to a grandkid for her birthday.

This was from the upper right, but both were about the same.

I would tuck this one away and find another $2 note to send as a gift.

Likewise! Keep it. You don't see misprinted money every day.

$2 not a big loss, even if the notaphilic value fails to keep up with inflation.

If it was $100 bill, then that's a different matter. Much greater temptation to spend.

On second thought, I believe what you have is a counterfeit bill. Check out the information on this link:

Read the fifth paragraph in particular.

I agree with Coinfrog. Not that I have any experience, but I'm sure there isn't that much upside on small denominations.

Seems unlikely that someone would counterfeit a bill with a denomination that many people think is not real anyway....

As far as counterfeit bills are concerned,
it sometimes happens that serial characters and digits do not align exactly resulting in a minor error, even with genuine bills.

I have seen a few of them pictured here in the CCF, from time to time.

Jefferson looks mighty grumpy on that bill.

Are my Eyes bad or is the Washington D.C Stamped a lil crooked? Looks a lil higher up on the right side.

Because I got it from a bank, I pretty much doubted it could be counterfeit. I always check notes for turn digit errors.

Here is a close-up of the Washington DC. I notice the ink is bleeding a bit, but on other bills I have the DC ink bled about the same way.

The grandkid will be 5. I saved out a few bills with serial numbers ending in 5.

That bleed looks pretty normal to me. Nice close-up, by the way.

I see that too. Could just be an optical illusion.

That's not an optical illusion, that's crooked. Either that's typical or it's not. Also, if someone ever tried to counterfeit the $2 bill they'd be the biggest idiot in the history of counterfeiters. $2 counterfeit bill has to be a joke somewhere...

What makes me think bill is bogus is that both serial numbers have the same flawed 1. I may be wrong, but I do not think the serial numbers on the right AND left are stamped with the same stamp.

As for the crooked "Washington, D.C.", I have viewed several photos on the internet and they all seem to be "crooked".
