Hello everyone,

The coin was found in Turkey which increases the change of being real as far as I research it. Its horizontal radius is ~3 cm and its vertical radius is ~3.3 cm. I do not know its weight yet. I wonder if it is real or not.

EDIT: The rear side of the coin (the owl) is upside down comparison to the front side (head)

It appears to be a cast copy, there is a casting seam along the edge.

The provenance and attached find site information for this coin would have to be independently provable, to help support authenticity.

One would then wonder why a coin of such importance to the heritage of Turkey, is not in a Turkish museum, instead of being commercially available on the international collector market.
For this reason, illegal to export from Turkey, and to import into the United States.

I agree: it appears to be a cast fake.
Field roughness and 'mushiness' of design detail suggest 'cast'.
Edge pictures also suggest cast - evidence can be seen of the removal of the mold joint seam.
(I have an example in my 'black' collection - it is the only way I will ever get to own one).

Thank you for the information.

According to the Internet, this Green dekadrachm are mostly located in Turkey and I thought it might be a real one and wanted to emphasize the location. Since it looks not a real one, I'll keep the coin.

I have a fake dekadrachm, much like the example pictured; I keep it in my 'black' collection.

Due to my impecunity, I will never get to own a real one.
