When new dies are being inserted into a coin press there has to be a certain amount of setup adjustments. Basically tests to see if the setup is correct. I suggest that your coin was created early in that process. Either the spacing between the dies wasn't close enough OR the pressure wasn't enough.
How it made it into circulation is another story!? Whatever, it's a keeper.
