Thanks all. I've been pulled away from collecting more proof Indian cents. They are my favorites. That's a nice one @barryg. I like the older holder as well. I have a pattern proof flying eagle for 1858 located on page 1. I would like to get more one day. I believe there are 8 varieties, but I'd have to check Rick Snow's book to be sure. I just checked. There are 10 pattern proofs for the year 1858. Of the 10, there are 6 that have a flying eagle. I'm not sure how many proof flying eagle varities there are for 1856 or 1857. If you or anyone happens to know, please let me/us know.

I did some homework. There is only one proof variety for the 1857 flying eagle. The PCGS website indicates there are some varieties for 1856 proof flying eagles: SR-1, SR-2, SR-3, SR-4, SR-5, and SR-9.

Quote: Some day I hope to add a nice proof Flying Eagle cent to my proof type set, but for now I'll just have to be satisfied with my proof Indian Head cent: Very nice!

These TrueView photos are not an accurate representation of this coin. Coin is mostly red on both sides, and it has decent mirrors. PF65RB (Used to be PF64RD). I think the RB designation is correct and I think the grade is correct. The photos at auction were insanely bad and I had a chance to inspect the coin in person beforehand. I think the photos kept bidders away! PR-2 Die pairing (struck after 1864).

I did some early morning shopping....A bit of a tough date.....not my best...not my worst. But, for now, she's a keeper.

Thanks @Jbuck, and Errers and Varietys. I traded off my previous 1875 proof IHC two years ago or so, but it didn't have any colorful mirrored fields...so this pf-62 with color in my mind was an upgrade.
