Awesome find! That's actually not a Rim Cud. It's just called a Cud, since it goes into the fields.

Thanks everyone! Not exactly coin roll hunting, more like big brown jug hunting! Ive thrown pocket change in this jug for thirty plus years and now my sister wants the jug back so I had to empty it! LOLjavascript:insertsmilie('')

@Errers and Varietys thank you for your response but I actually tried to research the name for this before I posted and read that if it affect the rim. its a "rim Cud". The rim is definitely affected here so....which is it? Cud or rim Cud? Thanks again

No, if it was a Rim Cud, then the it would only affect the rim only. A Cud is different from a Rim Cud, as it not only affects the rim, but the fields are affected too. They're both different animals. Look here for reference. http://www.error-ref.com/rim-cud/ http://www.error-ref.com/cuds/

I'm suspicious of this coin as a genuine Cud. The reverse legends 'UNITED STATES' should have a significant weakness - of which none is to be seen.

Possibly some metal was added somehow to the obverse post mint?

I wondered about that too, that was my first thought after noticing the sharp strike on reverse, it shows no weakness what so ever!

Yes, there's some visable weakness on "CENT" of "ONE CENT". It's a genuine Cud, not fake or PSD.
