Poll Question
I was just wondering how many of you all only keep coins you find yourself, or if you purchase coins. I'm on the verge of making my first variety purchase, but I'm worried it may make my finds feel less special.

Usually for me, I always try to find or cherrypick my errors and varieties but every once in a while I buy a hard to find one usually from the 1800s.

It depends on how strong the coin addiction is?

I CRH and cherrypick on ebay and at shows. I don't usually buy already-attributed varieties unless it is a really good price.

I prefer to cherrypick and find my varieties and errors CRH. Saves money and then I can say that I found it myself. -CH27

Most of the error and variety coins I get are found by myself where I find the greatest pleasure although recently I picked up a couple online.

I do both, mainly finding but sometimes when the price is right and I like the coin I will buy one.

For me it's more a matter of time management. I began saving varieties and errors during my first job with a paper route. So I've done my time hands on.
Today the likelihood that ill find coins worth more than my time spent is virtually zero.
It's a great time muncher to dig through rolls and boxes, but I'd rather spend time searching and researching my next type coin or year set.

For me it is the thrill of the hunt. Most of what I find is minor. These I keep or give away. Better coins go onto ebay. I search to find, as opposed to looking for anything specific.

I've bought the ones that are hard to find in the wild.
