Quote: If you believe none of that matters submit the request Already said I don't have enough interest to do this. I've been on the receiving and responding side of FOIA too many times back in the day to now submit a request that I don't really care about. However I do believe the folks responding to FOIA requests make their best efforts to provide accurate information (at least I always did), but people are human and sometimes mistakes can happen. That's why FOIA has an appeals process to it.

NGC released their census data on the RCM graded silver eagles: Total 392 coins graded: 370 pf70; 22 pf69 Does anyone know how many RCM eagles, PCGS has graded proof 70? Total graded proof 70 Enhanced Reverse proof eagles? Thanks PS NGC has graded 15,333 US Mint eagles PF70. So less than 2.4% of the graded PF70 coins came from the RCM. That's a very exclusive subset. I own one of those 370 coins :>)

Quote:The NGC census data I was referencing is at: https://www.NGCcoin.com/census/unit...on-coins/76/ I know, and you have to look at the 2019 w directly above the Canada set one which I linked. When you open that up there are clearly marked Canada set ones at the bottom of it That's why I was saying I'm not sure why it's so scattered as you have to poke around to find them all

I don't remember having seen such sales figure data before: The set has been available again for about a week now and there are still more than 99 available as of 'now'. It seems the big dealers have a different return policy compared to us folks (I know, I watched too many X-Files).

The NGC census data appears highly questionable to me. NGC claims that they graded and labled 2151 RCM Pride of Two Nation Eagles with FDI and the Mercanti signature. I doubt that NGC received more than 30% of all the RCM sets, and then sold 21.5% the Total RCM sets (total of 10,000 sets sold) with the Mercanti signature on all of them. I hope that NGC will audit their census data and release corrected data very soon. I did an ebay search of Pride of two nations sets with Mercanti signature sales, and the results show only a handful of these specific sets with signatures sold via ebay. Doesn't pass my reasonableness test.

It does seem high, though not completely out of the question as a product like this would be right in the MCM wheelhouse

I went to the MCM web site and could not find ANY sets signed by Mercanti currently for sale, and I doubt that they sold All the RCM and USM sets that they may have ordered from NGC. So the Census data from NGC is very suspect, if not flawed IMHO

It probably is thinking about it more, or at least the Mercanti aspect of it. I doubt he signed several thousand labels for that set alone.

I'm glad I got mine. It would be interesting to see if the sellout has impacted after-market prices but I suspect not much if any. It seems like for once the US Mint successfully forecast a mintage.
