So the Mint sent us out a linky to info on the 2023 Innovation Dollars, and I am SUPER happy: https://www.usmint.gov/news/press-r...gram-designsWHY am I super happy? Because the Indiana coin will feature my favorite make of classic pre-war car... the Duesenberg! *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

Sweet! Hard to beat a Doozie. Looking forward to adding the next batch to the album.

I'm happy to see next year's additions to the AI Dollar set.
I also like the Indiana design best. I always wished I had that type of car (I used to call them Capone Cars).
I like the simple but significant Ohio variety a very nearby second choice.
3rd, I'll pick Louisiana. Unfortunately, when I see the 'barge' it reminds me of D-Day on the movie "Saving Private Ryan". All I can think of is that it was more like a 30-man coffin than an exit ramp.
Although I pick Mississippi fourth, it still is a very nice coin. I'm looking forward to getting them all in the next 12 months.

I really dislike these "innovations" that aren't. The Underground Railroad is fine to commemorate, but not in this series.

Very nice! I like the selection for 2023, but my home state (IN) is representing.

These coins (P and D) are the only ones I need to buy from third party sellers for my Dansco albums - all other mint issued coins I will get from the Mint. Can't wait for the first one to be issued. (I just NEED an album to put them into)
are you listening, Dansco?

This is what I am waiting for to become available... https://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/da...et-2018-2032I will get two of them. One for proof, the other for reverse proof. I am not collecting the business strikes because the mint mark on the edge makes no sense in an album.

Yeah, that is the one I'm currently using for the P and D coins - and I HATE IT.. and it leaves my proofs homeless.... Quote: This is what I am waiting for to become available... I'm hoping that the 8188 and 8189 will have spaces for both proofs (Regular and Reverse), just like that did for the dimes, quarters, and Halves (2 proofs for each year - but is the case for the lower denominations it was Proof and Silver Proof.)

I agree. It makes sense to include the reverse proof as they were issued in lieu of a silver proof. It would be really nice if they made an album for just the proof and reverse proof, basically the P&D album with different labeling.

Curious... these coins are not "circulating coinage"? I though they were, if only because they can be accepted in vending machines, etc. Are they treated the same as the Kennedy half dollars?

They are Non-Circulating Legal Tender. Minted to be sold only to collectors, but you can still spend them if you want. So yes, pretty much like half dollars were from 2002 until recently (when the Fed started ordering them from the Mint).
