what's your Guess

To me it looks like something (an eyelash?) bent almost in half and trapped between the zinc core and the copper plating. Total guess though...

Embedded strike through on the zinc core?

So, Mike made a 'guess'? Doesn't sound like him. As long as we're guessing, I'd

say it was a die issue.

Question:
Is the whole object raised or just the outline?

Edit:
Suggest you keep Mr.Diamond's "guess" until Monday to give more time for other guesses.

It looks like a tiny alien smashed the back of his head into the die.

Something under the plating. Something that dried on the un-plated planchet before the plating.

Has be be some form of debris on the zinc planchet.
Or some damage to the die.

To me it looks like some kind of die clash except I can not find anything that matches. The closes in size and shape is the O of GOD. That is why I asked if just the edge was raised.
Apart from this I am at a total loss.
