Quote: I just overlooked the blemishes because they seemed small to me and were not very distracting from the overall look of the coin. Some coins really look like crap. I don't think this coin looks like crap. On the contrary, I think it looks pretty decent overall. More than half of the wheat stalks are visible so I just figured it to be VG. I guess the devil really is in the details. I agree. Do not let anyone beat you up too much. I have certainly seen way, way worse that sold for more.

Nice. Thanks MrPink. I might be selling it to someone tomorrow though because I've been made to think that it's not good enough.

The meeting is set for tomorrow morning to sell the 09SVDB along with the rest of the set (125 wheats and 39 Memorials) for $550. So I'm basically getting my money back on the SVDB and selling the incomplete set for $100. Then I'll be looking for a graded example.

Well I sold it all. Now I'll add a little money to this $550 and try to get a pretty good one.

I'm proud of you Joe , you've done the right thing . You will not regret having a straight graded S-VDB In your collection . I might kid around sometimes but I have never steered any member in the wrong direction .

Thanks guys. I mean it was nice to finally have one. And I still think it's a decent looking coin and therefore I think it's a good entry level SVDB. It also sucks that my collection is no longer complete. But I guess upgrading is a part of collecting, you guys just pushed me to upgrade sooner rather than later.

This one is $690 bucks. .. I'm in a bit of a conundrum in that there's always one a little better for a little bit more money and I'm just not sure where to settle at

This is not a rare coin. You will be shown new opportunities every day. Take your time, study the offerings, learn this coin backward and forward. What's your hurry?

I would hold off on that one. Give yourself some time...look at some coins in the next highest grade from what you want, so you can tell the grading differences. Maybe you can pick-up a good deal that straddles the grades.
