Might be die over-polishing or perhaps a Grease Fill.

Was probably most likely caused by an Over Polished die issue.

Ok Gentlemen, setting aside our opinions on weather this coin should be listed as a error coin or not I think the simplified question is do you think this coin could be a FS- 901 1988 D Lincoln Cent. I think yes. Of course I probably am less knowledgeable than our new member coinwreak .
