So far:
1. not minted on a continent that starts with an A.
2. it is not an American (USA) coin
3. it is European.
4. it is not from a country where German is the most widely spoken and official or co-official language
5. the coin WAS minted before 1800.
HINT:
The coins diameter is greater than 22mm. (That's 0.866142 Freedom Units).

Quote: Is it a hammered coin?
*bites lip, resists urge* Don't bite your lip so hard, it's bleeding. This coin was not hammered at the mint. It has not been hammered by me, it may have been hammered by a previous owner named jadey. The answer to the question is, NO this coin is not a hammered coin.

@Spence Unless you have a better way of identifying the country, I propose we ask if the coin was minted in the Northern/Eastern Region. That will cut the list of 44 countries roughly in half. 20 in the Northern/Eastern, 24 in the Southern/Western. Much of Western was excluded from your previous question. Countries in Europe by Region.Note: You can sort the list by clicking SubRegion.

I'm in favor of cutting the list in half. That's always a good thing. (I also edited my previous post )

What do you think of something like....does the country of mintage have shoreline on the Mediterranean Sea.......to cut the # down. This would eliminate alot of the "probable" countries I'm thinking it may be from.

You guys are going about this all wrong. You need to just start asking if it's from this or that country.
Easy questions with easy answers.

Quote:As defined here : https://www.worldometers.info/geogr...s-in-europe/, is the coin from a country in western europe? I'm sorry, but the page that link takes me to just shows all 44 countries and 4 dependencies or other territories in Europe. It does not break Europe down by section/areas. So, I can't answer your question based on that web page.

The page lists each country, its population, and its subregion. We are interested in the subregion column. Each of the 4 dependencies are dependent upon countries (UK or Denmark) in the northern region, so just assume that the subregion for those reads "Northern Europe". So, to clarify Spence's question, is it one of these?

No, it is NOT one of those 9 countries.

Note:
My browser does not show the sub-region column on that page. Could be because I'm running Linux and using Firefox.
If we are going to use that site to pose questions, one of you will have to post the image so I can determine my answer.
