APMEX is selling 20-coin rolls of Barber halves for $157.01 in AG and $209.99 in G or better. So that gives you an idea of current retail.

It is probably a smart decision to sell coins that you are not so interested in to pay off student loans faster. It feels good to pay down or pay off debt, and will save you money in the long run that you can then use to buy coins with in the future! For Barbers, I would sell here or on ebay. I just had to sell some of my silver to help pay for moving expenses as I just moved to another state. Of course I didn't really want to, but it was for a good reason so I'm glad I did it.

Lately 15 X for common Barbers seems high.

I think 13 X is fair.

Sure, you'd get more on ebay, but after fees you are way below

I have been buying them [read hoard :) ] for many years now.
