The eyelid is clearly doubled in the same direction as the TY. I think it's a DDO!

I believe this is a legitimate DDO and here's why, there is a definitive split at the bottom of the Y. If it were MD'd there would be no split. When the die is loose and shifts it would have smeared the bottom of the devise leaving a solid shelflike appearance with no separation at the bottom of the Y.

I would have James Wiles or somebody to check it out for attribution.

I see the eyelid, looks doubled but TY looks like MD to me, but I'm not as knowledgeable as you guys!
Cheers

Is James doing well? I'll gladly send it to him if he's able to attribute it.
It's exactly the spread on the bottom of the Y that started me down the road to documenting it.

As far as I know, James is doing great. He'll attribute it for 10 dollars plus shipping for return postage.

I would submit images first to make sure the coin is worth submitting. If you want to send in the image I made, you can. That is what I needed to see in order to move ahead with this coin. But try to get images of the whole LIBERTY and other affected ares with space around the devices so if he needs to edit to see what he needs to see, that can happen. (in other words make easy for him and he will be able to get back with you quicker.

Thanks for the scrutiny and evaluations, all. Coop, on your advice I'll send James the best images I can assemble. Now I have to go through all those 1941 LWCs that are scattered in various LWC bags and piles to hunt down another example. I'm not too hopeful, as this one's been hiding for nearly 80 years. I appreciate the thoughtful evaluations you've all offered. Very generous of you folks to offer your time.
