Here's a coin depicting an alternate view of an airplane - from the inside of one still under construction!
This is a silver dollar issued by the
Royal Canadian Mint (
RCM) in 2014. It was issued to mark the 75th anniversary of the Declaration of World War II. It presents three women hard at work inside a to-be-completed Avro 683 Lancaster X bomber.
Canada manufactured the British-designed Avro Lancaster heavy bomber under license during WWII at Hamilton, ON in a plant operated by Victory Aircraft Limited, Inc., a Crown Corporation created under the Department of Munitions and Supply Act of 1940; 430 of the bombers were produced at the plant.
The coin's commemorative reverse was designed by Sylvia Pecota. The proof coin had a maximum mintage of 7,500; just over 7,000 coins (7,017; 93.6%) were sold.

Here's an image of the actual interior of the plane; it could have served as a reference source for Pecota.
