This is a recent garage sale purchase. Only paid $50 for it. What are your thoughts? Appreciate any and all insight. Worth having sent for grading?

Wrong reverse style for '78. 100% fake again. I think you're batting zero.....

Look at the angled arrow feather. In 1878 all Morgans have a straight arrow feather.

looks fake at first glance, rough surfaces, mint mark wrong position. Weak reverse area is not normal on CC coins. Is this one magnetic? If not then I'd bet it's a cast copy counterfeit. Also the weight is probably off too. It should weigh 26.73 grams and one with little wear should be within a couple of tenths at the most.

Well darn, guess I bought $50 example of a fake Morgan I can use to not buy anymore of these. Appreciate your feedback. Had a feeling it looked off. Just glad I'm not one of the many people I see buying fake 93s on ebay for $2500

Sorry to hear you got snookered by this one. When your gut says something feels off, go with it. Better to miss a bargain than get taken to the cleaners.

Another quick check for suspect Morgans is the reeding.

This generation of Chinese counterfeits used a Castaing machine to apply reeding post-strike, mostly in an effort to conceal casting lines. The reeding on the counterfeits is way off. Study the reeding on a few genuine 1878-1904 Morgans, and then compare that to the reeding on the counterfeit. You will see several of the differences immediately.
