Question Id'ing Silver Sasasian (Or Sassanian) Coin

wfgodot New Member United States 13 Posts	Posted 08/22/2019 10:49 am A silver Sasasian (or Sassanian) coin; the first two images are of the reverse; I'm not sure what the proper alignment is but think it's one of those two ways.The reverse is possibly "Fire altar with attendants" but I cannot tell. The obverse is proper alignment. Size is just between 32.5 and 33 mm -- maybe 32.7 or 32.8. Any sort of help would be more than welcome: period, history, value, links, etc. And thank you in advance. Here's a great site for identifying Sasanian coins: http://beastcoins.com/Sasanian/Sasanian.htm The crown and general design of the coin appear to match Khusro II (591-628 AD). If you check out that site, with coin in hand, you may be able to confirm the ruler and possibly read the regnal year and mint. Report this Post to the Staff
