Quote: More mailbox Ikes today... Fantastic! Quote: I am having a heck of a time getting photos without glare, so I'm going to work on a solution to that before subjecting you to more sub-par photography.

Some of it depends on how congruent you want the set. A couple dates are significantly more expensive than the others. You can get a 78-D MS 66 for a little less than a 71-P 65 as an example. The later dates come nicer so do the D coins so they will be cheaper in better grades.

They are my two most expensive Ikes (bought from a forum member, so my budget was suspended for those purchases). My 71-P is MS-64 and was within my normal budget. The 71-P examples I found in MS-65 were more than either of the 78s.

Ok, so it's been over a year since I posted progress on my PCGS graded Ike set. I do have a few additions in the past 13 months tp report:
o 1976-D Type I PCGS MS65 o 1976-D Type II PCGS MS66 o 2013-W PCGS MS69
And tonight I scored: o 1977-D MS66
I'll post photos of this one when it hits the mailbox.
So that leaves 3 Ikes from the main set ('72-'78) and 3 from the "extended" set ('90, '13, '15). One of my 2021 Numismatic goals was to complete this set. It's doable but, as is typical, the high-hanging fruit coins are more costly and more difficult to find.
Looking forward to closing this one out and then upgrading all the non-proof to MS66 as budget allows.

Quote: And that 2015 RP is going to be expensive! I have a C&C I bought from the Mint, but it will stay intact. If I had known I was going to start the PCGS set the following year, I would have bought two sets and sent one in for encapsulation. Quote: Plenty of other things to spend my numismatic budget on! Same. Six holes left to fill in my Dansco albums should come first since that is almost 37 years in the making. I would also prefer to create a CAPS Ike set before upgrading anything in the PCGS set.

I have two of the Ike C&C and could do that, but after the membership fee and the grading fees and the time invested to package up the coin and ship it, it starts to become a wash.

I would have to go through a dealer. There is one at the coin show I know will do it; however, I doubt I will be going to a coin show anytime soon.

Hello friends. My most recent mailbox Ike is below and completes the "bonus" 2013 issues for me. I had to shop around for several years to get one that I felt was a decent price and couldn't pass on this one. This just leaves the 2015 P and 2015 P RP for my bonus Ikes. Slowly chipping away at this set.

Outstanding! Quote: This just leaves the 2015 P and 2015 P RP for my bonus Ikes. Slowly chipping away at this set. Same. Well, I also need to 2015-D. Then there are the other two 1972 Varieties I plan to add.

There are plenty of 2015-D out there on the bay, if you want to shell out 30 bucks. Mine's an MS67. I have never seen a graded 2015-P for sale on ebay. All I can think is someone bought a bag of Ds and sent a ton in for grading with the intention of flipping. I just need someone to do that with the Ps now!

The reason why I have not bought the D is because I want it to match the P, that is, same label type, position, grade. Without a P to buy, knowing what D will match is troublesome. I have tempted to get the pair that came from my 2015 (presidential dol lar) mint set graded, but then I will have those holes to refill in the album!
