I've compared Many 1952-D coins and this is the only one with the mint mark this high up and Nearly Touching the tip of the 5?

Mintmarks were punched in by hand into the die until 1990, so mintmark positions and locations varied on each die. They are never the same position.

They are added to the dies by hand. So they will vary in location and the angle can be different. The target area:
1. below the date.
2. Not beyond the bottom edge of the area.
3. to the left of the right rim area.
If it meets these locations, they are in the target area.
