30,000 in 15 minutes is 33 per minute. I wonder if the webmaster for the Mint ever heard of Cloudflare?

So bummed. Was ready to go a few minutes before and could never get the pages to fully load and checkout.

I got stomped out while they were processing my payment, then it switched to unavailable. had to keep re-entering my information as they took the paypal option away for this. Way to have a proper traffic handling website US Mint. It's 2019 is is not? LOL. Now I gotta wait and see if there is any kickbacks and try and buy it when the mint puts them back up. Congratulations to all that were successful in getting one.

There will be duplicate orders or orders with credit card issues that the mint will cancel. There is a glimmer of hope tomorrow or Sat/Sun morning. Don't give up just yet.

I was trying to order and says not available so I guess all 30,000 have been ordered? yikes that was fast. I also see on ebay "pre-orders" asking like $200 to $400 and wondering how they get "pre- orders" or is that a scam?

I wonder how many times a year the mint is getting 33 orders a second or 2,000 a minute. I can understand not building a website to handle such unique peaks, but, there should be a better way. I will just be happy when mine comes in the mail.

They're banking they can get the coin by either doing what everyone did on the mint's website or assuming they can find it cheaper elsewhere. Worst case scenario they cancel the ebay order.

I totally spaced this out until just now. Frustrating but can't be as bad as fighting the mint website without success...

Quote: After 18 minutes of refreshing and errors, it says unavailable. Unreal and the last time I will ever use the mints website. I had a feeling this would happen and promised myself last night that if it did I will no longer order or collect moderns. I said the exact same thing after missing out on the American Eagle 2018 One Ounce Palladium Proof Coin. I canceled all my subscriptions and sold all my silver proofs. And yet here I am ordering this Silver Eagle.
