Quote: What is your estimate value of this coin in 5 years? I'd venture somewhere between $65 and $20000.

@calradix
I don't expect that will sell at that price anytime soon, just thought it was interesting. I see the raw coins selling for around $600-$700
I haven't figured out how to turn on HTML for quoting, it must be a secret
Edit: there's probably a FAQ around somewhere.

Just looked on ebay and for the original ~ 4000+ listings looks like 3500 have sold and there are currently ~ 800 for sale. Highest price I saw was $804.99 (that was legitimate, a few of the higher prices 0 star bidder, 0 star seller ) lowest was $92.99, that's a lot of range. I think the price will spike in a few days as over 80% have already sold so the remaining will jump and then the price will probably tank before settling in a fair/reasonable price. Many people have made money, but the ones buying will probably lose unless they sell in the coming spike. Again my 2 cents.

Quote: All, will this many sales affect the low cost shipment times? I'm expecting it will but don't know. Usually I get my stuff in 3-5 days from the mint, will this one take the full 2 weeks? Probably will, they have 30k different packages they have to put together from this coin alone and they aren't used to this type of volume. Quote: Based on how out of touch the mint seems to be with many of their decisions, I just can't come to the conclusion that there was much thought at all put in to the 30k mintage. There was, it generates excitement which then leads to increased sales with other versions. This has gotten more attention in the last week than probably all of their products combined got last year. People get bored with high mintages that are dead in the water or assured to loose value and just wait until the mint bulk sells off the remainder at a discount to a big boy and get one cheap if they get it at all. Quote: 2) There was a push for dealers to buy this coin from speculators That's not unusual, that's standard anytime there is something like this. Just like dealers paying actors/homeless people to stand in line for them at the show sales. Quote:3) Every local dealer will only give $100-$150 over purchase price, so the ebay prices are purely speculators Dealer offers are almost always on the low side. Some people take the quick profit though. Quote: Highest price I saw was $804.99 (that was legitimate, a few of the higher prices 0 star bidder, 0 star seller ) lowest was $92.99, that's a lot of range The under 100 won't sell. That'll get canceled, either they left a 0 off the price or it was an early presale with them not having a good idea how to judge the market.

I've been on here a long time and have no idea how to quote posts either, but hey, it is what it is. That insane ebay listing made me laugh when I saw the shipping wasn't free!

I wonder how many of the ebay pre-sales will get cancelled after the seller sees they got a unique or signed COA.

Would be great to have a Q&A with whomever makes the decisions with regards to product and mintage specs.

This was marketing genius! We have over 4000 new customers just based on what's selling on ebay. We have a 22 page thread on here. The mint just released enough to not make it impossible to get one (heck I got one and I don't collect ASE as I think this is just bullion, but if some one wants to pay more I think it's worth it, more power to them). We are still talking about it and the coin was released over 24 hours ago. Lots of people are comparing this one to the 1995, heck 30000 was a perfect number. The mint probably sold more yesterday than they did probably all week.

I just received my shipping and tracking information from the mint. I selected UPS next day air so I should have it by Monday or Tuesday. I will try to post pics when I get it.
