You almost just have to laugh at the mint incompetence if you're the one that got the 67

33 years of production and they still invent new gimmicks. The grading game goes on. Yawn.

You guys are making fun of the unfortunate soul who paid probably $50 to get that pf67 grade. Even a pf68 might force the owner to make the coin a raw coin, and just return the coin to OMP. Paid a lot $$ for a grade that has no benefit. Very unfortunate.

The person who sent it in could have looked at the coin before sending it in.

It would suck if this was a $75-100 coin but it was a worthwhile roll of the dice and the result is still a $1100-1300 coin

Could be they sent it in in the unopened Mint shipping box for the ER/FR designation and didn't have an opportunity to look at the coin.
Likewise, I suspect that the chance of getting COA serial #1 is, to some extent, keeping the prices of sealed boxes up. I've seen that #2, #14, and #16 have been found and are being offered for sale, but #1 has yet to make an appearance.

Exactly, the person is still way ahead even with the 67 grade so you really just have to laugh it off and find the humor in the fact a super special product left the mint as a 67

If I'd been able to acquire multiple coins I wouldn't mind having a 67. I'd view it as a rarity and I'm sure others would as well. I'd carry it with me and show it off at coin shows and what not.

Remember about a month ago in an early article on the 2019S ERP, that a popular coin company was quoted as saying that they were only making $50-$100 on the coins that they purchased and flipped? For no particular reason I visited their web site and saw this:
2019-S Enhanced Reverse Proof $1 American Silver Eagle Box OGP & COA No Coins In order to provide our customers with the best quality certified coins, PCE, Inc. only deals in NGC and PCGS certified coins. NGC and PCGS are the most highly respected third party grading services in the coin industry today. Shop with confidence knowing when you buy from PCE, Inc. you are buying the best.

They are charging $100 for empty US Mint packaging!

I should have kept the shipping box that's worth at least $25.
My LCS gave me the blue box and ogp for free. I really have no idea why people do business with some of the large retailers.

For this coin there are many people who let grade the very first time. Maybe the person handled the coin improperly by taking out the coin from the OGP and put it not carefully in a flip and send it to NGC. But I also believe of 30,000 coins there are some with lesser quality from the US Mint. ;-) Quote: Didn't NGC grade one at a 67? That would be equivalent to a PCGS 65 For Chinese coins it would be the opposite, PCGS grade would have lower NGC grade. ^^ I do prefer PCGS for US coins only, but never for world coins. In my opinion, NGC is definitely more favourable for world coins.

Quote: Could be they sent it in in the unopened Mint shipping box for the ER/FR designation and didn't have an opportunity to look at the coin. I'm sure this is exactly what happened. The 3rd party grading services cooked up yet another scheme to ensure that people will send in coins that they wouldn't otherwise send in if they looked at them.

I'm waiting for the TPG to start grading the shipping box. Some one will pay extra for the shipping box as long as it's certified.
