Only one not in Fine + is the Barber 50 cent and that one I am having a hard time finding for a good price.

Since I updated the Barber 50 cent, it was time to update the pictures. My 20th/21st century type set :) (UPDATED)

Nice. Have you considered upgrading everything to MS or AU? The big ones would be the Barber quarter and Half, but other than that it'd be pretty cheap.

I did but not to put in an album. I eventually want to do all in slabbed, but that's a long term goal.

One of the reasons I've been picking up slabs.

Hmmm, I could fill this album fairly well right now. I might have to get one. :)

And yours looks great!

Honestly one of the reasons I did this was that I had most coins and other than Barber series, I can get all in AU/MS for minimal cost. The only ones not AU/MS are the Barber 10 cent and 50 Cent and the Standing Liberty.

This is a beautiful set (even the Barber half is nice) and a great idea for a type set.

I bought the Dansco 7070 album several months back at a coin show. When I saw it I just had to buy it. However, I haven't put a single coin in the album yet. Too many choices for many of the holes. How should I approach this set, etc. I finally bought a nice XF Seated Liberty dollar last year, then I looked at the 7070 album and there are spots for two of them (with and without motto). This was the most that I ever paid for a single coin ($500) and it's going to be a challenge to complete this set. That is if I ever decide to actually fill the holes. Hmmm.

Actually I find Morgans not attractive - a dowdy Woman --- BORING. I feel like I am staring at some rich dowager dying to ring the Salvation Army bell at Christmas time.

Sacajewas at least have cool obverses starting in 2009 - the Sequoyah one of 2017, the Jim Thorpe of 2018 and others are quite cool. And yes the Sacs/Native Americans are much better in Proofs, the business strikes are a bit harsh. The Innovation Dollars have cool changing designs - some of the best I have seen in recent US coinage. But you have to buy them at the Mint at premium.

Agree about Presidential dollars very dull and dowdy with some designs downright ugly.

But love the idea of doing your own type set -- very doable.

The model for the Morgan dollar was actually a school teacher.

As to Sacagawea, I also like that coin, especially the Native American series.

A few years ago I did a comparison of Whitman, Dansco and Littleton albums, and while I liked the Whitman for the color scheme, I felt the quality was not as good as the other 2.

http://goccf.com/t/356923

That continues to be my feeling. As I was taking out the 20th century album the cover just came apart.

My-Not-Dansco-7070-Type-Set,-Or-How-To-Have-A-Type-Set-For-Less-$$$

I looked for a comparable album but Dansco doesn't have one and the littleton are so large for the size that I reordered another Whitman. I hope the quality has improved.

Only good thing is that there should be 3 more coins to add to the set. I'll let you know as its out for delivery.
