I thought I was done making big purchases but here I am again I couldn't turn this one down because of the toning on it These are the sellers photos but the toning looks even better in person Edited by Suomi 09/18/2019 4:46 pm

VF-35. Eye Appeal 9/10.
I agree, an impossible coin to pass on.

Is it common for the stars to have an elongated branch going almost to the rim?

Quote: Is it common for the stars to have an elongated branch going almost to the rim? It's related to metal flow in a late state die.

I wanted to mention that this is the pointed 6 with stem variety. Very nice coin!

Agree VF-35, about as nice as you could ask for at this grade.

Thanks for the replies everyone!! And sure Grape I'll reveal it with the grade. I paid so much less than I was expecting (bid on ebay) to the point where I feel a little guilty

I've nailed a couple of super $1000+ coins on ebay in the last couple months, all PCGS or NGC. My jaw has dropped more than once over my too-low sniper bids winning. Apparently there are some type areas in higher price brackets that are not being spotted. Stacks, Great Collections, Heritage - all normal for prices although the "collector series" continue strong on higher grades. It seems ebay is a good place to look for bigger dollar coins that are REALLY sold at auction.
