Quote: Oh god! This is so terrible! I am so mad they did this to you! I hope you serve them justice and have a quick recovery! Just got back from the oral surgeon, I have to get my jaw wired shut for 6 weeks. Woop woop. Quote: My wife and I wish you the very best and a speedy recovery. Our hearts go out to you. Quote: Sorry to hear this happened to you Cam Thanks, hopefully, this gets fixed up soon. Quote: Sorry to read this. Get well soon! Thanks Quote: The young thug who coward punched you would never have gone to jail. Why? The jails are full, so the courts try to keep petty punks like the chunderhead who coward punched you, knew that he was never going to end up inside the 'klink'. Unfortunately you're 100% correct Quote: Sad to hear. Not surprising though. This seems to be a occurring more frequently as time goes on. Especially for that area Quote: I studied Martial Arts for a few years with a Sensei who was a 6th degree black belt at the time. He always stated that if two or three assailants attacked you you're probably going to get your butt kicked regardless of your training. It's very difficult to take on multiple attacker except in the movies.
Truer words never spoken Quote: This is awful. I can't even believe the law enforcement in Maryland. That stuff doesn't fly in Boston and Providence. They take those kids in to get them ready for juvi. They give them a taste of sitting behind the local police station bars for a bit to give them a taste of what's to come in the future if they don't get their act together now. You didn't even know who they were and they let him/them go on the spot to their mother. I hope they give that ( can't say what I want to say here) what's coming to him. RUN HOME TO MOMA, BIG BOY RUN HOME! He'll get what's coming to him/them I hope. Get well soon. Apparently under MD state law they can't throw anyone in jail, regardless of age, for second-degree assault unless an officer witnesses it. But, MD is known for stupid laws. Quote: I hope they can pay the medical bills but sincerely doubt it. Hit the nail on the head. Quote: Apparently the reason he jumped me was I sat in "his seat" on the bus.
I guess he enjoyed the seat upgrade, chauffeured by two cops. I've seen it happen down here before too. Really stupid.

Not Jail but a holding cell in the local police department/precinct to wait to e picked up by their parents....It lets them know what bars are really like and what a cell may look like in their future. That's a stupid law...unless an officer witnesses it.....so if anyone gets assaulted and an officer isn't around to witness it which is like 99.99% of the time they don't take the suspect in regardless of age. That sounds asinine. Are you 100% on that law?

According to Officer Ray, that's how it is in MD. Really stupid. Unless it's first degree assault, in which case it doesn't matter, you're going to jail. Quote: senseless? I'd certainly say so

Best wishes going your way for a speedy recovery! This really stinks. Too bad you're not on the west coast, we'd sic Guido on him. Full restitution, make his parents regret ever having him. Wow! A Susanlynn9 sighting. And I thought a Yellow Breasted Woodpecker was exciting!

I would like to share a story that happened to me 4 years ago. It was the day that all of us got released from school early because Christmas break started. I was with a few of my friends, and I decided it would be entertaining to go over to a public playground and just hangout. I was in my early-mid teen years so I was still a complete goofball. There was this weird slide that had rollers on it, which was rather strange, yet I decided to try to run up it. Of course I wasn't thinking and when I tried to ascend the thing, I slipped and fell flat on my face. Blood was everywhere, my nose didn't break, but it was certainly damaged as there was a decent amount of blood pouring out of it. My mouth was also full of blood, and I can't describe the feeling but I knew something was wrong with my mouth.
I went to my father and he didn't think much of it, but I still knew something wasn't right. My friends took me to the emergency medical room, as it was not far away. The doctor looked at me and told me to call my father and get him to take me to the dentist to get me checked out. Turns out what happened was my front tooth had gotten pushed back or something, not entirely for sure even to this day. I had to go through a 3 month process of having a root canal, which is basically removing the nerve/root that is attached to the tooth.
It was extremely painful and uncomfortable, and I was quite young when it happened so not a very fun experience. But in the end, I'm stuck with my front tooth, that in a sense, is literally dead, as there is no blood flowing to it. The outcome of this is a grey tooth, which is very annoying because I constantly have to explain to people that I do brush my teeth regularly. Other than the tooth being grey, it looks as normal as any other luckily.
It was a lesson though, and a scar that I will carry forever. We've all had our bad experiences, and I'm sorry you had to suffer through this long and hard process.
