For a small donation to his educational seminars (and to buy more fakes), he DOES have discs of all the known(to him) Chinese fakes ... Canadian & Newf. Send him an email.
I don't know Canadian Federal pieces and mostly into Pre-Confederation Colonials but on the reverse is that green coloration mixed in with the toning? If indeed green that is a "possible" indicator the specimen is debased with copper either in a minor/major way - not so much a new Chinese fake but a period contemporary circulating counterfeit of the period? Ask the seller to give you its weight? If proper just then an abnormal copper leaching tothe surface. It happens ...
What I notice on the counterfeit nickelsguy has shown is a different 8's in the date 1880 compared with the other 2 coins shown. The counterfeit nickelsguy has shown, the insides of the 8's are round while the other 2 coins have identical 8's and the insides of those 8's could only be best described as oval. I wonder if the counterfeiters have 2 reverses?
