I just found a rare Lincoln Wheat cent that I believe is the only verified OMM in all copper pennies. Please let me know what you think.

I like your enthusiasm. What attribution number is it? Looks normal to me. John1

Sorry, that is not it! Perhaps a clear close up of MM and markers would help further!

This is the clearest pic I can provide. My phone sucks for pics. Hope you can see the D MM North under the S MM. I see if I can borrow a HiDef camera and post clearer pics. Thanks for your expert help though...

__RD_AAA.jpg) The location is a bit more north than your coin. 05.

You should be able to see the bar from the D MM along the left side of the S MM and the bottom curve of the D is also shown inside of the lower curve of the S MM.

The S is in a slightly different position than the S/D. It has to be in exactly the same spot and position to be that die. Still nice coin for a change find!

The mint marks were hand punched back in those days so I don't think you're going to find exact matching MM positions.

Each die is exactly the same. As far as mint mark position is concerned. That same die punches thousands of coins. They all have the same mint mark position.

"hundreds of dies", not coins. The die is punched. Thus the reason all from that die will have the same location.
