Will have to represent my home city with this one. One of my favorite of the commemoratives.

Late to the party on this one, but I enjoyed all the other posts and thought I'd add a couple that I didn't already see. Chile 1976 10 Pesos - Love the obverse, admit the reverse could not be more generically boring. Netherlands 1938 5 Cents - Great adaptation of the design to the unusual coin shape.

Just 2,036 of these silver shilling tokens were struck in 1811 for Lord & Marshall Ironmongers in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. I've long admired the obverse for its primitive, almost medieval feel. Turns out it's an exact replica of the borough's original coat of arms from the 13th century, which was designed to celebrate (advertise?) the area's maritime commerce and the fortified castle atop the cliffs (scars) overlooking the harbor. My apologies for the funky image...my cheapo Canon printer/scanner doesn't handle toning and mirror-like surfaces very well. It's actually a lovely piece that falls somewhere in the gVF-nEF range. Dalton Yorkshire 34; Davis Yorkshire 32.
