1974 S Ike Grading Question - Coin Community Forum

numismatic sensation New Member United States 20 Posts	Posted 11/13/2019 4:43 pm Hi all, I'm wondering how much a scratch will detract from a grade. I have an Ike that otherwise seems perfect except for the unfortunate (and very ugly) mark between the t and y in Liberty on the obverse. Thanks in advance! Greasy Fingers Pillar of the Community United States 7121 Posts	Posted 11/13/2019 11:14 pm The mark you are concerned about is not a scratch but what we call a bag mark. Where the edge of a reeded coin hits yours (most likely another Ike) This would not cause your coin from getting a "detailed" grade. But would take maybe a point off depending on the rest of the coin Report this Post to the Staff
