2016 Roosevelt Quarter Matte Sections

In general it looks like the whole coins was placed in a mild acid solution. It altered the surface, but didn't remove a lot of metal from the coin. The coin will probably be normal in weight.

Note the texture. It makes the coin dull looking. If the whole dies on both sides were polished, then that could remove the original die finish. But if that was the case the devices should be smaller than the fresher die states. So making a size by side. Of the devices, you should be able to see the differences in size. Just looking at them is not telling me if this is the case. To make a side by side, cut the devices (ones is a straight line) on the outside of the the devices on each end of the letters. Then size both the same exact size. then place them side by side. of each other. (IE: LIBERTY) you could place one on the top and one on the bottom and see how they compare to each other. If the devices on one, looks larger, that would be the normal example. It the one set of the devices are smaller, then it could be die polishing. (Same for doubled dies, but in the case the devices will be larger on the doubled die, and the normal one will be smaller) So make sure to mark the normal coin examples.

No set them aside and to be honest forgot about them I can say that if you look at the edge of the coins they look all copper
