1992 D Silver Looking Penny - Coin Community Forum

Crazygirl321 New Member United States 14 Posts	Posted 11/20/2019 10:09 pm Hi. I have this 1992 D Penny that I need help figuring out why it is silver and doesn't stick to a magnet. The letter looks thick or coated and it doesn't have that sharp detail of a copper penny. I'm thinking I got a science classroom experiment on how to change or remove the copper layer of a penny.
