I've been a coin collector for a few years but I've never bought any roman coins or did research on them and I got this lil guy for my birthday! Could anybody identity it?

I went back and forth but I think based on the arm placement and perhaps I see the "T" now as well Theodosius. Compared below, Valentinian II, then your coin, then Theodosius. (I say that because this was one of the few Velentinian coins in my example I could find with the arm bent like that. I found more examples with Theodisous.)

When I see the staurogram in the left reverse field with the poor fellow being dragged along by his hair I think Arcadius or Theodosius so I agree it's probably a Theodosius issue.

I can see what looks like DN THEOD ... AVG, and SALVS REI PVBL.. is pretty clear on the reverse.

I agree, Theodosius II. [D]N THEOD... is reasonably clear to the left of the bust.
