A recent low dollar purchase. I liked the initial image I saw when I bid on him but it looks so much better in hand. Hot off the camera stand. Seems like a nice add to my raw Jefferson collection.

It was marketed as a FS but was less than $8.00 so not a big risk. Looks like it may have been aside from a tiny tick on the steps.

Typical soft strike.
Nickel was still causing the Mint grief even in 1940.

I don't detect any rubbing so it could be MS-63 or-64 OR AU-55 or -58.
I can't tell if the few scratches are bag marks or not.

And it's definitely NOT a Full Steps.

Solid MS-64, might make 65, nice luster and toning. Agree not FS.
