I noticed that one side is thicker then the other so I'm wondering if this is something to hold on to or is it pretty common.

To the CCF! Looks like a MAD or Misaligned die error to me. This is common and not usually worth a premium unless some of the devices are missing.

Thank you very much for the information I appreciate it. Would it be to much to ask why this quarter looks like it does

Quote: Would it be to much to ask why this quarter looks like it does Normally we say stick to one coin per thread but we will let it slide this time. The quarter look to have severe environmental damage. A spender IMO. I would throw the Lincoln Cent in a 2x2 and keep it as an example of a MAD error.

You can delete that post if 24 hours has not passed by. That would remove it from this thread.

Its possible that your MAD penny will look normal after a short period- I'm seeing rims on coins changing orientation-I was befuddled but metal circles havr been ebbing and flowing in a way that has caught mu eye- this morning pennies were contacting and expanding horizontilly and vertically- its not an illusion although illusions are a byproduct..

Unfortunate, the penny is an offset dime, which is pretty common, and not worth much.

This comment needs to be nominated for something. Also, I don't know what you mean, James.
