Post Your Coins With A Castle

Here's a "sort of" castle - the one found on the 1995 US Civil War Battlefields commemorative silver dollar. The reverse of the coin, by John Mercanti, features the memorial "castle" built to honor and remember the deeds of New York's 12th and 44th Regiment Companies during the Battle of Gettysburg during the US Civil War. It is the largest regimental memorial on the Gettysburg battlefield.

It's interesting to note that Union General Daniel Butterfield, the man responsible for the castle's design, incorporated the designations of the NY companies in the dimensions of the tower: it is 44 feet tall and 12 feet wide.
