2004 D Louisiana Purchase Memorial Nickel Error?

Hey everyone! Got a nickel this time, I found a roll of uncirculated 2004 D Louisiana purchase memorial nickels. They were from a bank roll unopened, and this coin was around the sixth or seventh one in. It has a ring on the reverse that circles through United States of America and through Five Cents, also cuts off the final n in nen initials.
What are your thoughts? I would understand if this was an ender, but it wasn't, so I don't know how this was damaged.

I would suspect that it had actually been an ender in another roll at some point.
