The cent should have been removed from circulation twenty years ago. I am all in favour of getting rid of the cent for circulation as long as we still get them in uncirculated and proof mint sets (just like the half dollar and dollar coins). Preferably in the bronze (95% copper) configuration.

I hopefully have a box of cents and a box of dimes coming in on Tuesday from my bank. They were able to order them, so hopefully I will find something good.

I got the two boxes today; I found a 80% silver 1960 Canadian dime, two smaller foreign coins, and some nice older clad dimes; I will look through the pennies soon hopefully.

A silver Canadian dime, that's a double whammy, congrats! Hope you find something good in the cents.

I searched the cents, and the oldest Wheat cent was a 1928; the oldest Canadian penny was a 1964. I have got to dump the dimes to repay my parents, as they loaned me the money to get the dime box.

I ordered a box of nickels last week, and I am picking them up today; I am mainly looking for silver (WW2 nickels), and Buffalo nickels. I may keep some of the older Jefferson nickels, but right now I have way too many 1940's and 1950's nickels taking up space in my room. I will be on the lookout for the 1950-D nickel though, which I already have one from past roll searching, but to find another one would be cool. My method of coin roll hunting nickels is to open all 50 rolls at once, spread them out on my desk, and pull out the silver, and any old Jefferson nickels to check for the 1950-D. I will also pull out any 1938 and 1939 Jefferson nickels if they have a mint mark. Also I will make a special container just for 1950-D nickels.
