My second submission is

Ireland 1966 Copper coins - these are from a 1966 uncirculated set sold ina green folder to commemorate the 5oth anniversary of the Easter Uprising.

There was a special Silver 10 shilling showing Patrick Pearse. However here are the 3 lowest values.

Penny shows the Hen and chicks (Pingin)
Farthing shows Starling (Feorling), this is the same animal that appears on my 1970 50p coin
Half Penny shows a large pig and unrealistically tiny piglets (Pigeen) (Leit pingin).

All were designed by Percy Metcalfe.

Glad to see this thread is going again.

Did someone say 1966?

Ireland - 1966 - 10s Easter Rising 50th anniversary commemorative, in original box

Thanks Paralyse, that was the coin I was referring too. I don't have one yet, but are bidding on one.
Anyway my coppers were also part of a set that year issued with them.

I really love the toning on your coin!

@Princetane thanks!

Here is another 1966 Ireland issue, the Floirin, of 2/- value at the time.

1965 is the year, my collection comes alive! The last year of the Predecimal NZ series. All 7 coins were minted, but no Pennies or Halfcrowns were released into circulation. So here are a set pair.

Halfcrowns were being phased out in 1965, as they were the same size as the proposed 50 cents, but worth half as much, and a crazy number of pennies were minted in 1964 and still being issued.

The set coins are white and copper, but red background makes them look the same!
