As we have seen a handful of those coppers from Liege, I was curious about all that heraldry on both sides, and found a good reference https://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/be-wlg.html (probably more than anyone wants to know  ). Starting obverse at 12:00: the County of Looz/Borgloon, represented by the horizontal yellow and red stripes, is now more or less the Belgian Province of Limburg. At 6:00: the former County of Hoorn, represented by the three posthorns, was incorporated into the Netherlands in 1839At 9:00: the former Duchy of Bouillon, represented by the horizontal red-white-red stripesThe center is a monument (perron) and at 3:00 three rampant lions, which I think are the oldest symbols for just the city of Liege. Reverse the arms of the ruling prince-bishop, who was Bavarian. Now I will make it five coppers in a row with another coin from Ferrara as a Papal State, a 1744 quattrino. My last post for the 1740s, and I have only one coin to post in the next two weeks  . See you in 1730!  Edited by tdziemia

@tdz, thanks for that link. I've often thought that having all that heraldry stuff in one place could be useful. The Krause books have one for some of the German States, but it is only a drop in the bucket. "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."
