Yikes, where is everyone? Only a few more hours to get in your coins dated 1639 AD.  In the meanwhile, here is another 3 Kreuzer from Austria (Glatz mint):   "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

The 1639 shows up in Numista as Bohemia/Silesia/Silesian Royal Mint (Glatz). And in NGC as Bohemia/Glatz (KM#50). The 1637 shows up in Numista as Bohemia/Kingdom/Bohemian Royal Mint (Prague). And in NGC as Bohemia/All Regions (KM#369) All very confusing because the bust, eagle and legends all indicate HAPSBURG! which is usually associated with Austria  It gets even better... When one looks for Silesian coins from German sellers, they generally show up under "Hapsburg Lands." When one looks for Silesian coins from Polish sellers, they generally show up in a catagory called "Places historically associated with Poland" which will include Pomerania, Silesia, Teutonic Order and Livonia. In 1636 I post this. Mintmark crown 1635/36 so could be early here    Kingdom of England, Halfcrown, Charles I, Tower Mint mark Crown. My last coin in this thread, the next one back is 4th century AD! |
