Good point @tdz, although it is also worth mentioning that both of our Half Groschens from 1518 AD have the "MONTEA" mis-spelling of MONETA.   "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

Seems this was a transitional year, with mostly gothic lettering, but one scarce subtype (56) having the modern lettering we saw for 1519. The mis-spelling shows up in subtypes 53 (yours) and 54 (mine) Another halfgroat for me for 1517:   |

I bought the 1521 coin from last page in February 2013. I took a photo in April 2013, and posted it in the First Edition. The seller had two Salzburg coins - that one and this one. (He also had two medieval bracteates that I didn't think to buy until several years later, by which point they were already gone.) As far as I can tell, I bought this coin in late May or (less likely) early June 2013. I didn't get around to taking any pics (that I could recall) until April 2021. I didn't get around to taking these pics until thirty two hours ago.   Archbishopric of Salzburg, Leonard von Keutschach, zweier (2 pfennig), 1517. Uniface, and fairly thin. On the other side you can kind of see the reverse image of the 7. As far as I'm aware, this is still my oldest AD dated coin. At the time it would probably have been my oldest dated coin in general, but by now I have many coins dated in other calendars that are older. |

Nice one @j1m! Here is another uniface silver coin from Austria dated 1517 AD, although this Pfennig is from Kärnten:   "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

Nice break from the half groats! I'll have some German material starting with 1506 that I didn't have last time around. But for now... 1516 Lithuanian half groat. This was one of the last 16th century dated coins I picked up for my Poland (Poland-Lithuania) OFEY, courtesy of @giedrius.   |

Here is a Half Batzen from the Austrian Duchy of Styria dated 1516 AD in roman numerals. I have it attributed as Saurma 730.   "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

Interesting that Austria changed earlier into modern fonts/letters (except those flat-topped As). 1515 Lithuanian half groat.   |

Nice one @tdz. I'm stuck on Lithuania and Poland for another week, such as with this Half Groschen minted in Vilnius and dated 1513 AD:   "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."
