The suspense is quite palpable Ahmedabad, in western India, is the largest city in the state of Gujarat. The Sabarmati River runs through its center. On the western bank is the Gandhi Ashram at Sabarmati, which displays the spiritual leader's living quarters and artifacts. Across the river, the Calico Museum of Textiles, once a cloth merchant's mansion, has a significant collection of antique and modern fabrics. It also is the current location of a 1372 CE / AH 773 Delhi Sultanate billon tanka, making it's way via IndiaPost to the final destination of Encounter Bay, on the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia.

I believe we've had an edition bumped up in the last few days before closure before... I recall there being a question at the time about exactly when it's valid to close an edition! (Would be hilarious if the 1372 finally shows up when it's 1373 day on the other thread but no 1373 had been posted yet. I'm hoping for earlier than that, though.)
It would be really nice if we manage to push this edition from 1460s all the way into 1360s. And of course there's a lot of interesting plans for the 7th edition up ahead (I'm hoping it would be well past the 1260s by the time the 8th gets anywhere close).
Too early to be sure but there's a good chance I might show up at my old Moscow apartment in August. If so, I'll try to take some photos and measurements of my Golden Horde coins, to be able to post them for ID - there could be a lot of interesting options in there to help with the 1360s and 1350s (and elsewhere in the 14th century, but especially in that area).

It is incredible what has been accomplished here, and I applaud everyone who has gotten us back this far, but can't we just focus on catching up the 7th edition and then go back farther on there? Most members can't participate in either edition right now, but can join in the fun of the 8th edition. I don't see the purpose of postponing the 8th any longer than necessary when you can continue this incredible 14th-century run in the 7th edition.
