The Fabled 1933 Penny Proof

Can you show us some pics?

I don't believe The Royal Mint produced any proof standard 1933 pennies. If they did, they would be worth lots. There are about 7 or 8 known circulation coins, and about the same of the patterns for this year - all worth mega bucks.
BUT there are now tons of modern replicas/fakes of these around. If these are what you are referring to, then no - not much value. No genuine collector would touch them, except as a token gap-filler for a few pounds.
If anyone shows you a 1933 penny, unless it comes with cast iron provenance, it's a fake. No amount of examination can prove it otherwise - even The Royal Mint has admitted they can't tell some of them apart anymore.

Exactly as Hogarth has indicated with his ebay link to replicas currently for sale there - the pictured coin is a modern fantasy/replica coin. Even if I were not automatically going to assume any 1933 penny turning up without provenance was a replica, the detail on the one shown is clearly wrong. Most noticeably the hair is far too pronounced and detailed. The reverse is also too bold - clearly had a computer involved in its construction with the result that the lines are too obvious - almost cartoon-like.
Going rate seems to be around £4 including postage.

They were in a collection that I have been given. There are some more penny in there as well.
